Introducing Rock Garden Tour Quick Riff - 12 Seconds of GLORY!

So I have a melon made for college radio - It didn't stop us from rocket launching a 12 second blogcast earlier today. In the future we'll be using our 12seconds.tv account to bring you fascinating riffs from the studio, office, green room, weather chopper, orchestra pit, etc...You're prolly like, "12 seconds? Whoa! How are they gonna cram 2 hours worth of witty banter into 12 seconds?!?!" Great question. I'll answer it with another question. What did the people of Lemmon, SD do when life handed them some lemons? Give up? Of course not, the people of Lemmon, SD built a petrified wood park. Which is precisely what we plan on doing, not literally.

Rock Garden Tour 19: Worm, Huh, Good God Y'all!

This podcast captures the RGT staff as we try our hand at worm composting. Listen as we attempt to fight negative worm stereotypes with knowledge, praising the worm for its positive attributes, celebrating the many contributions it brings to the vegetable garden. A few other things to listen for in RGT 19: Witty banter about Darwin, mono-atheism, and a most righteous t-shirt idea for the city of Mobridge, SD.

On St. Patrick's Day I read a post on Twitter that the term 'SKYWALKER' referrs to an obscure Irish phrase that means 'HEAVENLY POTATO FARMER'. Oil Can: Suspended!

 

Flowerman and Oil Can let off some steam after an emotional meeting at the corporate office in Dolton, SD earlier today.

"Am I sorry I disrespected the script? Not really! You don't get to where I am in the sound effects game by conforming to a script." Oil Can remarked after corporate served him a 1 show suspension for 'failure to follow the script' in RGT Episode 17. "Last time I checked this was a ROCK AND ROLL GARDEN SHOW, not something that comes in a tin can. We're rock gardeners - not a pair of dim witted mouth mummies!" Moments later Oil Can body slammed the paper shredder claiming it wasn't 'sustainable enough - ya jerks!' He then threatened to body slam Flowerman, but instead body slammed himself through the coffee table in the waiting room.

The Rock Garden Tour returns to the air waves tonight from 8-10 on KAUR 89.1. I guess I (Flowerman) will just have to act twice as obnoxious. Keep it rural.

Return of the Rock Garden Tour

We spent some of our spring break exploring the arid desert scapes of the great south west. The other part of our spring break we spent exploring and photographing rare and glorious sea monkey habitat. Without the bird seed, we're back in South Dakota prepping for this week's show. Looking up at the chalk board thus far we have a story about cow urine soda, shamrock seed smuggling, tips for beginner gardeners and a most righteous track off of Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue. Its good to be home.

This Week's Category: Spring Break

Last time RGT crew sat a week out the suits didn't let us back in for about a year and a half. So in an effort to nip this thing in the proverbial bud; when I say we're taking a week off, its just a week off. Its not a mandatory week off. Its not an economic decision. Its not an FCC regulatory issue (although Oil Can's 'thuck born/buck thorn' mix up did raise a few eye brows over in Dolton SD). Its just spring break. I'm touring some desert gardens in the South West and Oil Can is down in Mexico doing keg stands with Badger.

Flowerman and Oil Can will rock the Rock Garden Tour next Thursday night from 8-10 on KAUR 89.1 and every Thursday night there after, more or less.  

Rock Garden Tour 17: Gravitational Irregularity Kills!

This week's Rock Garden Tour podcast attempts to answer the big, big questions: Can you overwater a water weed? Would you even want to? How do you collect rain water? How do you collect rain water if you live near the Cosmos Mystery Area? What do residents of Presho, SD think of Wall Drug's free ice water campaign? And that's just a snap shot.

This week's podcast is a full half hour (30 minutes) as opposed to the usual (20 minutes). We kicked it up by 10 minutes because this podcast will have to last you for 2 weeks. I'm taking a week off to shadow a guerilla gardening stunt man out west. Enjoy the podcast and keep it rural.
